In the middle of a rainy night, camping ​isolated on the Juan de Fuca Marine trail, our well earned slumber was interrupted by the piercing sound of an owl's screech. It was a terrifying, exhilarating, and unforgettable Vancouver Island experience, and we hope this hot sauce is the same for you! But be warned; it may cause you to screech in the middle of the night...

"Humbaba" (Hoom Bah' Bah) was the giant guardian of the cedar forest. His face was that of lion, his roar a flood and his breath... FIRE! 
Inspired by this mythical creature and our island's  beautiful cedar forests, we have added a drop of cedar extract into this recipe, made from the leaves of western red cedar trees. Taste it and experience the Breath of Humbaba!
